Meeting the Mayor!

What an amazing experience!! Today was a real treat as we were welcomed into Aachen by the Mayor. Mr Dixon gave a speech, in German, which was very well received! He also explained each of the logos on our jumpers including the Citizen's Rail, DCRDF, Community Rail Lancashire and Interreg IVB ones. These are the sponsors of this fantastic adventure. There were a large amount of photos being taken and the children were made to feel very special with champagne flutes of orange juice as a celebration. As special guests, not only did we see the White Room, we were taken to the Coronation Room where many German kings have been crowned over the years!! The traditional Lancashire gifts from Moorhouse's and Farmhouse biscuits were much appreciated.
Thank you to everyone who made us feel so special.
