BFC Goodies!

On finding out about our trip to Germany, Burnley Football Club invited a few children over to collect a large selection of goodies this afternoon! We will be fully equipped with pencil cases and stationery, key rings, door plaques, cool backpacks and beanie hats for our upcoming trip... and even have enough to present some to our European school friends. Representing Burnley in Aachen will be our pleasure.

Special Visitor...

 

Today was a very interesting day as year 5 were introduced to Ashton's grandma (Sue) who lives an hour away from Aachen! Sue came in to talk to us about our upcoming trip and gave us some tips on what to look out for when we are there. We learnt some interesting information about some of the famous landmarks and she even brought us some delicious delicacies from the area... Aachen Printen biscuits. I think we all now know what we will be spending out euros on that week!

Well, the Lancashire Telegraph caught wind of our adventure and wanted to know more! They came to take our photograph today and asked lots of questions. Watch out in the newspaper over the next few days and... "read all about it!"

German Lessons....

Last week saw the start of Mr Yates' after school German lessons for year 5. Everyone had a great time learning how to ask, 'What is your name?' and how to respond. As we learn some simple greetings and manners in German, our trip is becoming very real!
